Public Holidays in Nepal

NTA closed for Tihar (8–12 Nov) and Chhath (15 Nov): expect type approval delays If you’re expecting an NTA approval this month, apply early and add a few extra days to your launch dates.

f you’re bringing telecom or radio equipment into Nepal, expect slower approvals over the next few weeks. The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) will be closed for two public holidays:

Tihar: 8–12 November 2026 (5 days) Chhath Parva: 15 November 2026 (1 day)

NTA doesn’t review applications while its offices are closed, so work stops until staff are back.

What this means for you

Approvals will take longer than usual. Type approval applications will go past the normal timeline. Everything in progress pauses. Application reviews, technical checks and provisional certificates all wait until NTA reopens. Shipments may wait at customs. If you’re waiting for clearance documents from NTA, your goods may be held at the border until those documents are issued.

What we suggest

Send your applications as early as you can, and add a few extra days to any product launch dates that depend on an approval.

We wish you all a happy and peaceful Tihar and Chhath.
